Pete and Annmarie's Flaxbourne Gardens wedding was a corker! They're both so darn stinking lovely that I've really wrestled with myself about how many embarrassing photos to show of them…

…my evil side one! So you’ll get to see photos of Pete’s hairy chest and the Grinder profile Pete’s best man created for him!

But it wasn’t all craziness, we got a beautiful shot of them kissing under the stars under Flaxbourne Garden’s famous arches.

Flaxbourne Gardens is perfect for wedding photos because the owners have taken great care to create a fantastic array of backdrops and stunning vistas.

There’s a windmill, wonderfully manicured gardens, a cave, bridges, ponds, carvings, a summerhouse, a tree house and those grand stone arches. The list goes on.

But I’m getting getting ahead of myself…

The first photograph I took of Annmarie was of her doing a happy dance in her parent’s dining room. That sums her up really - full of joy and life and enthusiasm.

The wedding ceremony

Their wedding ceremony was at St. Peter and St. Paul’s church in Flitwick, about 20 minutes from Flaxbourne Gardens.

Annmarie’s zest for life and cheeky spirit wasn’t even quelled during the wedding service. She sang as loud as possible during the hymns (while giving sneaky glances to her friend who she was competing with!). And when the minister said the words ‘sexual union’ she looked at Pete and raised her eyebrows with a knowing look that had Pete smirking.

After a very long and enthusiastic confetti line we did some group photos and then it was off to Flaxbourne Gardens.

The venue was embellished with beautiful flowers from The Flower Mill who also did Annmarie’s amazing bouquet. A Pimms bar welcomed the guests, along with some quirky canapés like miniature fish and chips and miniature Yorkshire puddings. And huge kudos go to Annmarie’s cousin Sonali who made the stunning wedding cake.

I then took Pete and Annmarie off for their romantic photographs. Between the beauty of Flaxbourne Gardens and Annmarie and the easy-coolness of Pete and the fun-loving nature of them both, it was easy to create some fantastic, romantic wedding photos for them.

Annmarie admits she’s a selfie queen so I took the opportunity to photograph her pretending to do a selfie using my huge 300mm lens. Technically an impossible shot for her to take (she’d need 3m long arms!), but a fun one nonetheless.

The speeches were wonderfully raucous and Pete stole the best man’s thunder by telling the same stories and jokes. But there was nothing Pete could do about the leaflets the bestman had created showing the Grinder profile he’d created for him….  …for some reason I attract the more fun loving and crazier couples. And that suits me fine!

The dance floor was absolutely rocking all night thanks to Boogaloo Mobile Disco and some of the liveliest wedding guests you could wish for.

They’d booked me until the very end of the wedding, so I got to see things descend into mayhem with an Irish jig from Annmarie and a striptease from Pete, not to mention Pete dancing while sitting on an usher’s shoulders.

I drove home thinking ‘that’s my kinda wedding…!’

A fun-loving couple, enthusiastic guests and a gorgeous venue. Great work everyone!
