The Bruisyard Country Estate - wedding photos of Luke and Shelley

Luke and Shelley’s wedding at Bruisyard Country Estate was a doozy (that’s a good thing btw!!)!

Luke is a project manager and it was clear to see how much work had been put into their stunning day. But the attention to detail didn’t detract from the fun and emotion of the day. I hope it’s clear from the photos that the day was also full of life, love and laughter, all nestled in a gorgeous venue that I hope to come back to soon.

Why is Bruisyard Country Estate great for wedding photos?

There are lots of reasons why Bruisyard Country Estate is great for wedding photos….

There are 4 main elements to the estate:

The Bruisyard Country House

Up to 30 guests can stay overnight and get ready on the morning of the wedding in the beautiful country house. There’s lots of space and lots of light which makes it perfect for indoor photography.

Luke got ready on the ground floor and Shelley got ready upstairs so it was easy for me to bounce between them which meant they didn’t need a second photographer.

The Bruisyard Ceremony Barn and banqueting Hall

The beautifully restored 17th century barn gives the perfect combination of rustic and elegance. The old wooden beams and high ceilings of the barn mixed with drapes and chandeliers gives a fantastic fusion.

The Bruisyard Estate

So we’ve established that everything looks beautiful inside, but the outside has plenty photo opportunities too. Although the estate is large it feels quite compact which means you can do a circuit of all the best spots pretty quickly without having to hike miles.

The little bridge over a stream is a great spot, although for some of the shot of the bridal party on the bridge I needed to put my step ladder in the stream to get the best height and angle. Luckily I didn’t sink in and kept my balance!

We didn’t get a sunset but we would have had great views of it if there had been. The outside of the country house and the barn both look great for some romantic photos.

Here are a few of the suppliers who helped make it a cracking day.
