Your new friend with a camera…

Let’s smile for real!

I’m 5ft 6” with a head like a boiled egg and at roughly 50% of weddings someone tells me I look like a miniature Harry Hill.

Initially these facts may not seem important, but when you read my Google reviews it becomes clear I have an innate ability to put people at ease.

Being small and smiley might be the secret!

However, the secret to how I managed to persuade my stunning Malaysian wife to marry me is anyone’s guess!

On the day, Dan was effortless to be around and has the most brilliant sense of humour so he was not only able to make everyone feel comfortable but also kept it incredibly fun! Our guests adored Dan...young and older alike!

My exotic wedding and faded memories…

I met my Malaysian wife at a wedding while backpacking in South East Asia with a friend.

She was the wedding planner… but I promise I don’t always run off with the wedding planner!

11 months later we got married in Kuala Lumpur and I got to wear a crown, wield a sword (which I broke) and sit on a throne.

Back then I didn’t realise the importance of photography so we didn’t hire a wedding photographer.

I wish I could give someone a pile of money to go back in time and capture the exotic wonders of our Malaysian wedding so I could relive it all over again….

…instead of photos of the two of us looking miserable like in this photo!

Similarly, when my dad passed away the following year I realised we only had a few tiny, faded photographs of him.

That's when the penny dropped. As a wedding and family photographer I can help bring families together with images that remind them how much they all love each other.

Stuff I love…

I’ve been a professional photographer since 2008 and one of the reasons I love it is the connection I make with my clients.

I love life and here are some of the things I love about it…

You?

If you’re full of life, love and laughter then I’ll probably want to hug.

The Pay it Forward Tribe

It's a group in Peterborough that I joined who do random acts of kindness within the community - everything from feeding the homeless to litter picking and even giving out free hugs and cake in the street.

The ManKIND project

This is my mission to do a random act of kindness for someone from (or with heritage from) every country on earth. Read the stories in the Gallery section.

Favourite movies

I’m a Lord of the Rings nerd and seen in countless times. When Sam and Frodo are at the bottom of Mount Doom and Sam says “I may not be able to carry it for you…but I can carry YOU” I cry every time.

Travel

Since my wife and I don't have children we get to travel a fair bit. I have a very long bucket list to get through - so I’m always up for Destination weddings.

My favourite place? I loved Komodo Island; it's like the land that time forgot with 3m Komodo Dragons roaming freely through the villages and sometimes into people’s homes.

Somebody Feed Phil

Food, friendship, kindness and travel. What’s not to love?

Uplifting Trance music

Yep - back in the day I used to love waving my arms in the air to obscure bands like Underworld, Leftfield and Eat Static.
