Sybille Kubis contacted me before Christmas because she wanted to buy her fiance a family portrait session as a gift. She told me the value she wanted on the voucher and I got busy creating it for her.

I could tell on the phone that she had an accent so I asked her where she was from. I was pleased to hear she was from German, a country I'd not ticked off yet (thinking about it 'ticked off' can mean two things can't it!). I don't want to be known as the guy who ticks people off!

My random act of kindness was to add £40 to the value of her voucher.

Funnily enough, when it came to arranging the session I was surprised to discover her fiance was someone I'd created commercial portraits for several years earlier.

Below are some of the family photographs I created for them. It was a relief to get all 4 teenagers smiling at the same time. It's nice to have found a profession where my natural goofiness is actually helpful!
