Family portraits in Grafham Water

I had a wonderful day creating these family portraits in Grafham Water recently. I met with Michelle and her family several weeks before the session to discuss the kind of photography they wanted.

They decided they wanted a mix of studio style and lifestyle photography. Since I don't put any time constraints on my clients I was happy to do a mix of the two. Michelle hired her local community centre for us to create the studio photos in (since there was nine of them in the extended family we needed a lot of room). After the studio photos were completed (amidst much chuckling and teasing about my resemblance to Harry Hill) we shot off to Grafham Water. Not only does Michelle and her family live in Grafham, they go to the reservoir quite often as a family, so they have an emotional connection to the place. This added an extra dimension to the photos, with the location acting like an extra character in the images.

A touching family moment

Get off our land!

Lovely natural smiles

Thomas loves rugby so he took so he tried converting his mum!

Granny and Grandad loved having their grandchildren piled on top of them - although it does take its toll on the knees!

You don't have to have everyone looking at the camera for a lovely family portrait

The whole family happily posing together while I chat away to make them feel nice and relaxed
