Family portraits at home in Nassington

I always recommend you have your family portraits created somewhere meaningful to you, as the location then becomes an extra character in the photo.

This often means I create photos in my client's home or garden.

Hannah and Jamie Phillips and their children Ben and Emily have a beautiful home in Nassington. Their garden is the size of two football pitches and the river Nene ambles past the end of their garden.

A beautiful spot for family portraits. That said, I created this photo against a shed, so even if you have a modest garden I still recommend this kind of photography over studio photography.

Ben is a lovely thoughtful character and I enjoyed the way the family interacted in the photos.

Hannah sent me this kind note a few months after the session, which goes to show how family portraits become more precious the longer you have them.

"I just wanted to say the longer I have the photos you took around, the more I appreciate the characters you managed to capture on the day. Pics of the kids have turned out to be very true of their continually emerging characters!"
