Divorce the dress wedding photography

14th October 2013
I thought I was cutting edge when I started creating trash the dress wedding photography but I've recently been asked to take things a step further. I've just completed a divorce the dress wedding photography session.

Now, I should say that I'm a soft-hearted romantic and have a solemn respect for the sanctity of marriage. I've been married over 10 years and count my blessings every day (well, most of them...!)

However, I accept the world isn't perfect and we all make mistakes. Divorce happens. It's sad and intensely painful for everyone it touches, but far be it for me to judge.

For some people a divorce the dress session is a cathartic act of empowerment and a statement of new beginnings. If I can help people move on from the pain of divorce then I guess that's got to be a good thing. I'm all about celebrating life and helping others do the same.

The lovely Debbie Fitzpatrick has given me permission to publish her divorce the dress photos on my website. She was amazingly entertaining and we had a blast. We decided a slight hillbilly theme gave the session a nice flavour.

Debbie was a complete star lying in the river in mid October. She even took it well when we discovered the mud her friend Andy had been throwing at her smelt of cow dung.

Here's to you Debbie - you rocked that frock like a winner. I hope these photos give you years of laughs and help you start your new life.

Here's what Debbie had to say about the session:

Dan took the most amazing photos of my divorce the wedding dress. Truly the world's most helpful photographer. We had such fun. This was a real symbolic and life changing time and Dan captured it all in such wonderful photos. I never stopped laughing all day.
