Cairngorms - Glen Clova

Cairngorms - Glen Clova - The UK's Best Wildlife Locations
I've not been to this particular location but I've read about it and here are some of the quite specific and useful details I've learned:

Glen Clova is one of the best places to see one of the remaining 400 or so wildcats. Look in the late afternoons between Rottal and Gella Bridge.

Other mammals include the mountain hares that keep to the higher hills above Loch Brandy in winter. Bad weather drives them down to Rottal and Wheen, on the eastern flank of Glen Clova. Pine Martins are very elusive but you may happen upon one in your car lights on an evening drive along the B955.

You can also see roe deer very easily and red deer in poor weather. Two pairs of golden eagles patrol the crags and ptarmigan can be seen on the high hills too.

Crossbills can also be seen flitting through the tops of the pines.
