This colourful sunset near Peterborough was taken on the road between Lutton and Polebrook. Oundle is the next village beyond Polebrook, if that helps.
I took three exposures and used HDR software to blend them together. I then used Photoshop Elements to enhance the colours in the sky using the sponge tool.
Compositionally it works because I used lots of lead in lines including:
- The road
- The two grass verges
- The hedge on the right
- and finally the triangle of leaves in the top right creates two more lead in lines in the sky as well as being a big pointy arrow in its own right.
Therefore everything leads your eye down the road to a point that sits roughly in the correct spot to comply with the photographic 'Rule of Thirds'. Click here for information on the rule of thirds: http://www.danwaterscreative.com/news12417.html
I finally did a bit of dodge and burn and then sharpened in Photoshop.
