The home of the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust Slimbridge is a birdwatcher's banquet. It's home to the WORLD's largest collection of swans, ducks and geese. There's even some flamingoes for good measure.
Slimbridge is a good place to spot rare birds, but there's some great regulars too. If you sit tight in one of the many hides you can see Hobby, Kingfishers, Red Kites, short eared owls and up to 35,000 wildfowl in the winter.
Slimbridge is mostly about the birds, but you can also see dragonflies, grass snakes, hares, wild orchids and even otters.
The Wildfowl and Wetland Trust has a great website with all the recent sightings, so for further details check it out here: www.wwt.org.uk/centre/122/slimbridge.html
